The Campus Center hosts major campus events, programs, and organization meetings while also serving as a recreational center. The facility helps unify the life of the University and serves as an educational program to the student staff it employs.
The 36,500-square-foot William T. Young Campus Center houses an aquatics center, an Olympic weight lifting facility, multipurpose gymnasium, the Student Involvement Center, the Health and Wellness Center and Counseling Services, meeting rooms, and a number of student life offices. The six-lane, NCAA competition-size swimming and diving facility is used by Transylvania's swimming and diving team and is open daily for free and lap swimming during the school year. The Olympic weightlifting facility is primarily used by student-athletes and is only open when staffed by approved members of the athletics staff. Students desiring to do this type of weight lifting should contact Holly Sheilley, Director of Atheltics, for more information. The fitness facility in the Beck Center was designed for all students and provides a full facility of weight lifting and cardio equipment.
