Box Score TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - 
Olivia Akridge (Eddyville, Ky.) put Transylvania ahead for  good with a layup, then clinched it with a pair of late free throws  Saturday, lifting the Pioneers over Rose-Hulman 61-56 in women's  Heartland Conference basketball play.
Transy is 14-5, 9-3 HCAC, while the Engineers are 6-13, 4-8 in the conference.
The  Pioneers used a 14-5 run to open the second half to grab its first lead  of the day, 34-29. But Rose-Hulman came back to regain the lead and the  two teams battled to the buzzer.
Brooke Colliver (Mt. Sterling, Ky.)'s layup tied the contest at 56-56 with 1:36 to play,  converting an assist by Akridge. Akridge's layup then gave the Pioneers  the lead for good with just a minute to go. Terra  Lucas (Elizabethtown, Ky.) made one of two  free throws with 42 seconds to play before Akridge clinched the issue  with a pair of free throws with 25 seconds left.
Akridge finished the day with 20 points and eight rebounds whileShayla Black (Mooresville, Ind.)  added 16 points. Holly Milburn (Georgetown, Ky.) popped in 13 points and  hauled down nine rebounds. Lucas had 10 points and five rebounds.
Heather Finnell's 14 points topped the Engineers.
Transy shot 34 percent from the field, compared to 38 percent for the  home team. Rose-Hulman also had a 39-36 advantage in rebounding. The  Pioneers forced the Engineers into 24 turnovers while making just 13.  Transy was also 19 of 22 from the free throw line compared to 11 of 17  for Rose-Hulman.
Transy trailed by four, 24-20, at halftime after shooting 26 percent  (seven of 27) from the field compared to 40 percent for the Engineers.  Rose-Hulman also had a 22-14 edge on the boards.
Black led the Pioneers in the half with eight points while Akridge  added six. Alisa Dickerson's nine points topped the Engineers, who never  trailed in the period and led by as many as seven in the early going.
Transy returns to the Beck Center on Wednesday, taking on Franklin at 7:30 p.m.
