Box Score LEXINGTON, Ky. --- A steady rain greeted the Pioneers as they hosted Hanover in HCAC action under the lights at Pat Deacon Stadium. Rain set in well before the game time and did not let up for all ninety minutes making the pitch slick, and action slippery during in the last week of conference action.
Despite the conditions and rain falling harder than the outset of the game, Hanover struck first in the 3rd minute with Shelby Adams slipping the ball into the back of the net to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead. Ally Barfield kept the Panthers scoreless facing 3 shots on goal while battling the elements. The second half would bring a give-and-take battle between the two teams with neither side gaining a scoring advantage. Transylvania Midfielder Lindsey Sizemore led the Pioneers attack with 2 shots but was unable to find the back of the net. Maddie Sjogren added an additional shot on goal for the Pioneers. The final score would match that of half time for a 1-0 Hanover win. Total shot for the game gave the Panthers a 16-5 advantage for the game.
The Pioneers (6-8-2, HCAC 4-3-1) will be back in action at Anderson (In.) on Saturday, October 31. Match time is set for 1 p.m.
