In their first match of HCAC play, the Pioneers defeated the Beavers 3-0 on the road. The Pioneers had three different scorers and three different players for the assists.
"It's a good start to conference play winning on the road with a shut out. The team prepared well for Bluffton, our back line was solid and denied any and all chances of an attack, junior Erin Heil and freshman Jaimye Cottongim had standout performances as our central defenders. Freshman Isabella White got us on the board late in the first half, and then we seemed to settle into the game, scoring two more goals in the second half, a composed finish out of senior Meron Roach and a hard-fought, scrappy goal from sophomore Maddi Benjamin. Still a lot more to do this season, but for sure a good start," said Co-Head Coach Ashley Reinecke.
