HANOVER, Ind. - The Transylvania Women's Soccer team fell short in the second overtime period of the HCAC Tournament Championship to Hanover College 0-1. The Pioneers went toe to toe with Hanover, needing two overtimes to settle the HCAC Championship. In the heartbreaking loss the Pioneers concluded a historic season finishing 14-5-1 and set a new season best for co-head coaches Ashley Reinecke and Marcus Aldaba, who have improved the win total from last season and led Transy to its first HCAC Championship appearance since 2013. 

Both teams' defense stepped up as neither would let a goal in in regulation despite a handful of opportunities. Three of the four Pioneer shots on goal came in regulation and six of the seven Panther shots on goal came in regulation. Carrie Stevens finished the championship with six saves, ending her season with 32 total saves, 6 wins, and 3 shutouts. The six wins was the most for any goalkeeper this season for Transy.

Senior Meron Roach and Sophomore Isabella White were the heartbeat of Transy's offense in the postseason, scoring three of Transy's five postseason goals.  White finished her sophomore campaign with a team high 11 goals and 10 assists.

The lone goal of the game came in the 107th minute as Hanover got a shot through Transy's defense to take the 1-0 lead. The Panthers held off Transy for the final two minutes to win the HCAC Championship.

After the game Meron Roach, Audrey Rawls, and Lilia Steen were recognized by assistant commissioner Grace Schott for earning HCAC all tournament team.
