After defeating MSJ the night before, the #20 Pioneers faced off with the Lions again on Saturday in the HCAC Championship at Hall Field. The MSJ Lions defeated Franklin in the morning game to advance to the final. 

The Lions held the 2-0 lead until the Pioneers scored in the bottom of the fourth. Junior Stella Wulker scored through the right side and advanced on a walk for senior Carson Murray. Sophomore Emilie Teall singled to make bases loaded for the Pioneers. A ball to the right side of the infield from junior Kinsey Smith scored Wulker for the 2-1 score. 

In the bottom of the fifth, Transy took the lead. Senior Abby Frazier led off with a double down the third base line. Senior Annie Shuck sent a beautiful RBI double to left center to score Frazier. A groundout from Senter to the right side sent Shuck to third to set up a bunt situation for Wulker. Wulker laid down an RBI bunt single to score Shuck and give the Pioneers the 3-2 lead. 

The Pioneers added on in the sixth with starting with Teall reaching on an error, Smith singling to shortstop, and a walk for Frazier to load the bases. Frazier scored Teall on a sacrifice fly to center for the 4-2 lead. Emily Hestand kept things going with a 2RBI double to left for the 6-2 lead. Senter kept the rally going with an RBI single through the right side to score Mewes (pinch runner for Hestand). Wulker sent a single down the left field line. With two on, Murray sent an exclamation point walk-off three-run homerun to left for the run-rule 10-2 win. 

Mewes, Senter, and Wulker were named to the HCAC All-Tournament team and freshman Sophie Moshos earned HCAC Tournament MVP after winning her 16th win of the year and the HCAC Championship with two strikeouts and scattering three hits.
