The Pioneers Draw Against HCAC Opponent Earlham

RICHMOND, IN - Transylvania's Pioneers Women's Soccer team faced off against HCAC opponent Earlham. The two conference teams would draw in a hard fought battle in Richmond, IN.

The teams would begin the first 45 minutes going back and forth, with both goalies making saves to keep the score even. Transylvania's offense continues to be hot with four corners coming in the first 20 minutes. Isabella White and Lilia Steen would both have a pair of shots on goal, forcing Earlham goalie to make a save. The Pioneers would have a strong end to the half with two shots, and forcing a corner kick. Transylvania would connect with the ball from the corner with a shot off the crossbar from Abby Dean. Ciana Araya would close out the half after being fouled on a shot, forcing a penalty kick. Araya would miss the penalty kick, ending the half 0-0.

Carrie Stevens would make three big saves in the second half, keeping the Pioneers even. Minutes later, three shots from Tranyslvania's offense would continue to apply pressure on the Earlham defense. The Pioneers strung together great offense play in the final ten minutes. The offense would be rewarded with five corners and four shots. The Pioneers final opportunity came with just a minute and 30 seconds left, with a shot from Teagan Fahy that was just wide right.Transylvania would close out the 90 minutes with a strong finish. 

Transylvania Women's Soccer will continue HCAC play on Saturday at 1:30 pm against Manchester University. The team will celebrate the Seniors for Senior Day, at home at Pat Deacon Stadium.
