MONTGOMERY, AL. - Transylvania Softball dropped their NCAA Regional semifinal game to Maryville College 1-0 to move to the elimination bracket against Berry College. Due to weather, the game against Berry originally scheduled for 8 PM and in the 3rd inning on Saturday has been delayed and will now be played tomorrow at 1 PM.
Sophie Moshos pitched a complete game and allowed just 4 hits and no earned runs in the loss. Maryville's only run of the game came on an error in the 4th inning.
Ella Steczynski led the Pioneers at the plate with a 2-3 performance.
Stella Wulker,
Carson Murray,
Avery Parsons, and
Jordan Fico all added hits in the loss.
Maryville's Ackerman gave the Pioneers their first shutout loss this season, and their first since March 18th, 2023.
The loss puts Transy at 1-1 in the regional. They'll resume their elimination game against Berry tomorrow at noon. The Pioneers currently trail the Vikings 4-0 in the top of the 3rd inning.
