LEXINGTON, KY - Transylvania University battled it out with the visiting Ohio Northern University on Saturday at Pat Deacon Stadium, falling 1-0 in the match.Â

Jaimye Cottongim's shot landing wide.
Entering the second half with things tied up at zero, Ohio Northern would score in the opening minutes of the period. Elizabeth Pierce would score in the first two minutes of the half. Transy would begin to find their offensive opportunities. A shot by
Maddi Benjamin would be saved by Ohio Northern's Morgan Moeller at 61:58. Transy would battle to defend in the remainder of the half, but would have limited scoring opportunities as they worked to advance the ball.Â
After a late save from
Carrie Stevens at 83:48, Ohio Northern would hold on to secure a 1-0 victory at Pat Deacon Stadium.Â
Co-Head Coach Marcus Aldaba looks forward to working to find better offensive opportunities.Â
"It was a tough game and credit to our opponent," said Aldaba. "They took advantage of us when they could. Our challenge moving forward is to find a way to keep the ball higher up the field a bit longer to allow our players to get in higher positions. The team will have their day off tomorrow and we will get back at it in training on Monday."
Next up for Transylvania is a match up with Maryville College on Friday, September 20th in Maryville, Tennessee at 7:30 p.m.
