LOUISVILLE, KY - Transylvania claimed both victories in a double header at Spalding on Saturday in Louisville. The wins give Transylvania their seventh and eighth consecutive victories and improve their season record to 11-2. Head Coach
Shawn Hendrickson reached a career milestone in the victories, earning his 400th career win.Â

Game 1: Transylvania 9, Spalding 6
Transylvania erupted in the second inning, scoring six runs to take a 6-0 lead.
Taylor Ingram walked a run in as
Emilie Young scored for the first run of the afternoon.
Dakota Burke singled to left field, as
Ry'Ann Tharp and
Reagan Rouleau scored for the Pioneers.
Katie Mewes doubled to left field for an RBI as Ingram scored.
Avery Parsons singled, advancing to second on a throw, as Mewes and Burke both scored to earn Parsons two RBI's. Burke singled to left center field, earning another RBI as Ingram scored.
Spalding would score three runs in the third from a single at bat, as Eaton tripled to right field for three RBI's. but the Pioneers would hold off the Spalding offense and continue to build on their lead in the fifth. Rouleau singled to the pitcher on a bunt, earning an RBI as Tharp scored again. Burke grounded out, but earned another RBI as
Natalie Contreras scored, giving Transylvania a 9-3 lead.
Spalding would score in the fifth, and two runs in the sixth, but Transylvania would hold off Spalding for a 9-6 victory.
Contreras pitched five innings for the Pioneers, only giving up six hits and four runs, striking out four batters. Gibson pitched one inning, only giving up one hit.
Taylor and Ingram led the Pioneers with two runs each, while Burke, Mewes, Parsons and Rouleau each had two hits.
Burke led the Pioneers with four RBI's, Parsons recorded two.

Game 2: Transylvania 7, Spalding 6
Â
Transylvania started the first inning where they left off in the first game, scoring three runs in the opening inning. Young doubled to left field for an RBI as Burke scored, followed by a hit from Tharp that scored two runs (Parsons and Young). Spalding scored four runs in the third to take their first lead of either game, but the Pioneers would quickly respond with a run from
Ella Steczynski scored on a wild pitch in the fourth to tie the score. Spalding retook the lead in the sixth after scoring two runs, but Transylvania would rally. Burke scored on a single to second base from Young in the seventh to pull the Pioneers within one run. Transylvania would claim the victory in the eighth, 7-6.
Trinity Bridges pitched five innings for Transylvania, striking out three batters while only giving up three hits and five runs. Gibson pitched two innings for the Pioneers, giving up two hits and earning three strike outs.
Burke led the Pioneers with two runs, while Tharp and Young each recorded two hits. Young and Tharp each recorded two RBI's in the win.
