GREENCASTLE, IN - Transylvania split a doubleheader at DePauw on Saturday, picking up a thrilling victory in the second game courtesy of a home run from Jordan Fico.

Game 1: Transylvania 2, DePauw 10

DePauw jumped to an early lead in the second inning, as the Pioneers would fall behind 0-4 after a double to right field and an error later in the inning led to three runs for DePauw. DePauw would score again in the third after a wild pitch resulted in Heim scoring. Coffel doubled to right center field later in the third, driving two runs in as the Pioneers fell behind 0-7. Transylvania would find a moment to rally in the fourth as Dakota Burke and Gracie Gilbert scored after Emilie Young advanced to second base after an error. Despite the surge from Transylvania, DePauw would score three additional runs in the fourth to hold off the Pioneers 10-2.

Game 2: Transylvania 3, DePauw 2

DePauw was first on the scoreboard again in game two, as Brady singled to right field sending Smith to score in the third inning.

In the sixth inning, Transylvania found their stride as Jordan Fico hit a home run, sending Young and Steczynski home for a 3-1 lead for the Pioneers. In the seventh, Minobe scored for DePauw, but Transylvania would hold their lead to take the victory 3-2.

Trinity Bridges earned the victory at the mound, pitching seven innings and only allowing seven hits and two runs, recording four strike outs.

The Pioneers return to action Sunday, returning to conference play as they travel to take on Franklin at 1:00 for a double header.
