New Market, Tenn. – The Transylvania eventing team competed at the River Glen Horse Trials over the past weekend at the River Glen Equestrian Park, coming up with a win.

At the Horse Trials, 11 teams from six different schools competed in a series of trials. Transylvania competed against teams from the University of Kentucky, University of Louisville, Otterbein University, Sewanee, and the University of Findlay.

The team of junior Abby Blackburn (riding Dior HH), freshman Nathalie Ouellet (riding Value Added), sophomore Lauren Nunn (riding We're Not in Kansas Anymore), and sophomore Stevee Candrl (riding Island Jet), won their category, beating Findlay by 1.18 points to collect the win in their division.

Another Transylvania Pioneers team performed strongly in show, finishing in sixth place. Individually, Nunn finished second in her novice division. Blackburn and Ouellet finished fourth and fifth, respectively in the beginner novice division.

The team plans to continue training hard over the winter and is excited to come out strong for the Spring season at Poplar Place Farm at the end of March 2018.
