Greenwood, Ind. – Transylvania men's lacrosse senior attacker Clark Watts has been named the Ohio River Men's Lacrosse Conference Offensive Player of the week, the conference office announced on Monday.
Watts, a senior from Louisville, Kentucky (Ballard HS), tallied seven goals over two games for the Pioneers last week as his team went 2-0 and stayed undefeated in ORLC play. Watts posted three goals and one assist in last Wednesday's 24-3 victory at home against Mount St. Joseph, also claiming five ground balls in the performance.
In Saturday's 14-7 Transylvania road victory against Washington & Jefferson, Watts completed his second consecutive hat trick, eventually scoring four goals in the win, along with three ground balls. For the week, the attacker amassed seven goals, one assist, and eight ground balls total.
The award is the first of Watts's career, and the second Offensive Player of the Week award won by a Pioneer player this season (Trenton Sneed, week of April 3).
Watts is currently the team-leader in goals with 20 on the season and is third on the team in assists with five.
Watts and the Pioneers are back in action this Saturday, when they visit the Bethany College Bison in another ORLC contest. Face-off between Transylvania and Bethany is set for 1:00 p.m.
