Transylvania nationally ranked for first time in 2017 in United Soccer Coaches' Poll

Kansas City, Mo. - The Transylvania men's soccer team has entered the United Soccer Coaches' Top 25 poll for the first time this season.

In the week 2 release of the United Soccer Coaches' top 25 rankings, the Pioneers men's soccer team was voted as the No. 21 nationally-ranked team. Transylvania's accolade marks the first time the team has been voted into the top-25 during the four-year tenure of men's soccer head coach Matt Vogel.

After cultivating a 6-0 record to begin the 2017 season, the Pioneers have begun attracting the attention of onlookers around the country, becoming one of nine teams to enter the top 25 this week.

The Pioneers are believed to be in the United Soccer Coaches top 25 poll (formerly the NSCAA top 25 poll) for the first time since the 2009 season.

Transylvania will put its undefeated record on the line once more against nonconference opposition, visiting Waynesburg University on Saturday, September 23 before opening up Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play next Saturday, October 1 against Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.

The Pioneers are looking to improve upon their second-place finish in conference play last season, ending the season with a 12-3-3 overall record.
