Greenwood, Ind. – Transylvania men's soccer junior goalkeeper Drew Grisham has been selected as the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week for men's soccer, the conference announced Tuesday.
Grisham, a junior from Mason, Ohio (Mason HS), was an integral part of the Pioneers 0-0, double-overtime result against the Thomas More College Saints on Thursday, September 6.
The junior recorded four saves in 110 minutes of action. The game was Grisham's first shutout of the young season.
Grisham currently leads the HCAC in save percentage with a mark of .875 percent, and in goals-against-average with a 0.41 GAA.
This is the second player of the week award of Grisham's career and the first of the 2018 season earned by a Transylvania men's soccer player.
Grisham and the Pioneers return to action on Wednesday, September 12 when they travel to Danville, Kentucky to face the rival Centre College Colonels in a nonconference showdown. First touch between the Pioneers and the Colonels is set for 7:30 p.m. at Amend Field.
