Transylvania men's tennis sees 2018 run come to end in HCAC Tournament against Hanover

Indianapolis, Ind. – The Transylvania men's tennis team's season came to an end as the Pioneers dropped a 5-1 result to the Hanover College Panthers in the first round of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's tennis tournament at the West Indy Racquet Club on Friday night.

The Pioneers started the match off strong with the duo of Luke Groene and Eric Sandknop claiming an 8-4 victory in No. 1 doubles action.

However, the Panthers responded by winning both the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches by the scores of 8-0 and 8-2 respectively.

Hanover's momentum increased in the singles portion of the match as Transylvania senior Luke Groene fell 6-2, 6-2 in No.1 singles.

Transylvania freshman Dylan Moore turned in the most entertaining match of the night but eventually lost by the score of 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 in No. 2 singles play.

The Panthers went on to claim a 6-0, 6-0 victory in No. 3 singles to clinch the overall 5-1 match victory.
