Lexington, Ky. – The Transylvania men's tennis team has been forecasted for a fourth-place finish in the upcoming Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference season according to Friday's conference release of the 2019 preseason coaches' poll.
In a survey of the conference's nine coaches, Transylvania received 53 voting points to come in fourth on the poll, trailing first-place Rose-Hulman, second-place Earlham, and third-place Hanover. Anderson also received 53 points to forge a fourth-place tie with the Pioneers.
The Pioneers claimed a sixth-place finish last season, producing a three-win improvement from the previous season under the guidance of third-year head coach Kevin Calhoun.
Transylvania prepares to serve up its 2019 spring season on Saturday, February 16 as the Pioneers welcome the Sewanee Tigers to Top Seed Tennis Club in nearby Nicholasville, Kentucky.
The HCAC portion of the season starts on Saturday, April 6 as the Pioneers head to Terre Haute, Indiana to take on Rose-Hulman.
