Lexington, Ky. – Friday's opening super regional game of the NCAA Division III Softball Tournament between Transylvania and Illinois Wesleyan has been moved up to an 11:30 a.m. start.
Originally scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. afternoon start, both teams have agreed to move game one of the Lexington super regional ahead to 11:30 a.m. tomorrow to account for anticipated thunderstorms to roll into Lexington. Gates for fan entry at Hall Field will now open at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow.
Game two of the super regional currently remains scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. noon start on Saturday, with a 2:30 p.m. if-necessary game to follow.
The Lexington super regional is being hosted by Transylvania University at newly-renovated Hall Field. Tickets for adults are $10, $8 for senior citizens, $6 for students of participating schools with ID and children. Children ages 2 and under are admitted for free.
Transylvania (33-11, Mount Berry regional champion) is competing in its first super regional in program history, while Illinois Wesleyan (34-12, Alma regional champion) is making its second-consecutive appearance in the super regional round.
