Former Pioneer standout Megan Mitchell returns to Transylvania for her first year as an assistant coach for the 2018 season.

As part of head coach Shawn Hendrickson’s staff, Mitchell will specialize in recruiting as well as alumni relations.

Mitchell played at Transylvania from 2010 through 2013. The infielder was named HCAC Freshman of the Year in 2010 as well as HCAC MVP in 2010 and 2011. She was also named First-team All-Region 2010 and 2011.  

Her illustrious career was highlighted by the honor of being named NCAA Third-Team All-American in 2010, a season in which she led the Pioneers to the Regional Round of the NCAA tournament while leading the nation in slugging percentage.

After her time as a player, Mitchell served as the head JV coach at Harrison High School in West Lafayette, Indiana from 2014-2016. She then became an assistant coach at Anderson University for the 2017 season.
