Lexington, Ky. – On a special senior day that saw forward Rachel Cox join the 1,000-point scoring club, the Transylvania women's basketball wrapped up its regular season with an 83-50 victory over the Anderson University Ravens at the Beck Center on Saturday afternoon.

Cox, a senior, along with fellow seniors Carlee Clemons and Sarah Ashley, were honored in a Senior Day ceremony prior to tip-off, setting the table for a potent performance by all three players.

With the win, Transylvania completed its regular season with an overall record of 20-5 and 15-3 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference to clinch the No. 2 seed in next week's HCAC Tournament.

Cox led the Pioneers in scoring and turned in an overall dominant performance composed of 21 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and a block.

Ashley scored a season-high 13 points on an efficient 4-of-5 shooting performance to go along with three rebounds and two steals.

Also reaching double figures for the Pioneers was sophomore guard Ashton Woodard, who scored 10 points on 3-of-4 shooting from the field, including 2-of-3 shooting from three-point range. Clemons contributed five assists in the final game of 2017-18 at the Beck Center for the Pioneers women's basketball team.

Transylvania took control of the game right from the start, jumping out to a 25-12 at the end of the first quarter.

With just over five minutes to play in the second quarter, Cox scored a layup, giving her 14 points in the game and bringing her career total to 1,001 as a Pioneer.

With the game well in hand, Head coach Juli Fulks reached deep into her bench throughout the second half as 10 Pioneers played double-digit minutes in the 83-50 victory.

Up next, the Pioneers will turn their attention to next week's HCAC Tournament. Transylvania will be the No. 2 seed in the tournament and will play the winner of No. 3 Bluffton and No. 6 Mount St. Joseph on Friday, February 23 at Hulbert Arena on the campus of Rose-Hulman at a time to be determined.
