FRANKLIN, Ind.—Seniors Jerra Kelsey and Tiara Harris posted top ten finishes to lead the Pioneers to a fourth place finish at the Franklin Invitational Sunday. Kelsey earned the individual award after firing an event best round of 79.
"We have been focusing on this weekend," head coach Keilly Purdom said. "We knew a solid showing at today's event could help us, as we prepare for the championship."
Sunday's event was the final event before next week's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament. Sunday's field included HCAC members Rose-Hulman, Hanover, Frankin and Defiance in team competition.
The Pioneers finished with a team total of 363 strokes, while Rose-Hulman won the event with a team total of 335. Defending HCAC champion, Hanover College, edged host Franklin College by a single stroke, to take third, as Defiance took fifth with a total of 419.
"We have been working extremely hard on our game," Purdom said. "And it's beginning to come together as we approach next week's event."
