Moir wins fourth player of the week award of her career after Sunday 70

Greenwood, Ind. – Transylvania women's golf junior Meredith Moir has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week for women's golf, the conference office announced Monday.

Moir, a junior from Louisville, Kentucky (Sacred Heart Academy) turned in the best single round of her collegiate career in Sunday's second round of the HCAC Preview tournament at Keene Run Golf Course in Nicholasville, Kentucky.

Moir carded a three-under par 70, the best single round of any golfer at the event over its two rounds.  Moir's three-under par round is also believed to be the best single round by a Pioneer women's golfer in program history.

Along with her round-one score of 82, Moir turned in a two-round score of 152 to finish in third place upon the 84-player leaderboard and the highest among all HCAC golfers.

The Player of the Week award is the first of the 2017-2018 season for Moir, the reigning HCAC Player of the Year for women's golf. Monday marks the fourth time in her career that Moir has claimed Player of the Week honors after doing so three times in the 2016-2017 season.

Moir and the Pioneers are back on the links next Sunday and Monday, October 1-2 in Montgomery, Alabama as they compete in the Montcomery C.C. Intercollegiate event.
