New Bethlehem, Pa. – Transylvania women's lacrosse freshman attack Shelby Wuest has been named the Ohio River Women's Lacrosse Conference Offensive Player of the Week for Week 2 of the 2018 season, the conference announced Monday.
Wuest, a freshman from Louisville, Kentucky (Assumption HS), compiled 11 goals, four assists, and four draw controls for a total of 15 points in a 2-0 week for the Transylvania women's lacrosse team.
The freshman contributed a line of four goals, two assists, and three ground balls in a 19-1 win over Earlham on March 7. In the performance versus Sewanee, Wuest scored on 5-of-7 free position shots.
Wuest now has four hat-tricks in five career games and now leads the ORLC in goals (23), assists (8), and points (31).
Wuest wins the award for the Pioneers women's lacrosse team for the second-consecutive week, following fellow freshman Rachel Johnston, who won Offensive Player of the Week accolades in the opening week of the season.
Wuest and the Pioneers return to play on Tuesday, March 13 as they take on Huntingdon College at Gulf Breeze High School in Gulf Breeze, Florida at 1:00 p.m.
