Transy Drops First Game of Home Stretch to Centre

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Transylvania lost the first game of this season's final home series against Centre Saturday 7-0 in college field hockey play at Hall Field.

Playing at home for the first time since Sept. 23, Transy is 1-11 on the season while the Colonels are 9-3.

The Colonels jumped out to an early lead scoring their first goal around the five minute mark.  Transy would enter halftime down 5-0.  Coming out of the half the Pioneers were fired up and held the Colonels to two goals in the second half.  Transy saw key defensive saves fromLaura Hammer (Louisville, Ky.) , Sydney Katz (Louisville, Ky.), Annie Donelan (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Charlotte Alexander (Gahanna, Ohio).

The Pioneers were held to three shots, two by Caroline Dunham and one from Brittany Rebalsky (Louisville, Ky.).

Transy plays its next three games at Hall Field to complete regular season action. Next up is Oberlin on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
