Box Score LEXINGTON, Ky. - Transylvania earned its second consecutive victory over an opponent by at least 20 points, defeating Centre 82-62 Sunday in women's basketball action at the Beck Center.

Transy is 3-1 while the Colonels fall to  2-2.

The Pioneers led by 15 at the end of the first half (48-33) and held a double-digit lead for the entire second period in a game that Centre never led. The Pioneers led by as many as 25 points late in the contest.

Holly Milburn (Georgetown, Ky.)finished the game with 21 points and five rebounds.  After Milburn scored 17 points in the first half, the Colonels adjusted their defense toward her in the second half, allowing Olivia Akridge (Eddyville, Ky.)to shine, scoring 11 second half points and 19  for the game. 

Transy found most of their scoring opportunities down low as the Pioneers scored 40 points in the paint to 20 by the Colonels.  Transy also outrebounded Centre 42-28, with Shayla Black (Mooresville, Ind.)pulling down a team high eight rebounds. Black also had a team-best eight assists.

Centre shot 31.3 percent from the field in each half.  Chelsea Benham led the Colonels with 13 points and four rebounds.  Benham was followed by Maggie Prewitt with 12 points and a team leading eight rebounds.  Centre lead in scoring off the bench with 26 points to Transy's 20.

Transy led by as many as 22 in the first half and led 48-33 at intermission.  In the middle of the first period the Pioneers went on a 23-3 run pushing the score to 34-12.  Transy shot 57 percent from the field while holding the Colonels to 31.3 percent shooting.

Millburn was seven for nine in the opening period ammassing 17 points. Akridge followed with eight points.  Black led the team with six rebounds in the first half.

Transy returns to action on Wednesday, hosting its Heartland Conference opener against Hanover at 7:30 p.m.
