Lexington, Ky. – The Transylvania women's lacrosse team begins the 2021 Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference Tournament on Wednesday, April 28 versus the Mount St. Joseph University Lions in the HCAC semifinal match at 7:00 p.m. at Pat Deacon Stadium.

The Pioneers completed another undefeated run through the HCLC regular season schedule last Saturday with a 21-5 win over the Anderson University Ravens, completing the regular season 9-4 overall and 4-0 in conference play.

By winning the regular-season conference crown, the Pioneers attained the No. 1 seed in the tournament to set up the semifinal match with No. 4 seed Mount St. Joseph. The winner of Wednesday's match will advance to Saturday's 2021 HCLC Tournament Championship match to face the winner of the other HCLC Tournament match between No. 2 seed Hanover and No. 3 seed Franklin. Those teams will square off on Thursday, April 29 in Hanover, Indiana at 4:00 p.m.

The highest remaining seeded team will play host to Saturday's HCLC Tournament Championship game which the Pioneers have hosted each of the last two full lacrosse seasons.

The winner of the HCLC Tournament will earn the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. The Pioneers earned their inaugural trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2018 by winning the Ohio River Lacrosse Conference Tournament and repeated that feat in 2019 by capturing the HCLC regular season and tournament crowns.

Transylvania and Mount St. Joseph are competing for the second time in the 2021 schedule after Transylvania won at Mount St. Joseph in regular-season play, 21-4 on April 7.

Wednesday's match will be streamed live on the Transy Sports Network. Live stats are also available during the tournament match via TransySports.com.
