In the first matchup of the Transylvania Holiday Classic, the #2 Pioneers defeated the Warriors 53-45. Wisconsin Lutheran has previously played #1 Hope and #21 Chicago before coming to Lexington to face the #2 Pioneers. The first quarter ended with the team tied at 12, but the Pioneers outscored the Warriors 18-9 in the second quarter to pull away, giving them enough of a lead to hold strong through the rest of the game.

• Madison Kellione- 15 points, 5 rebounds

• Team total 41 rebounds

The Pioneers will face off against the Berea Mountaineers for their second game of the Transylvania Holiday Classic tomorrow December 30th, at 2:00 PM in the Clive M. Beck Center.
