San Antonio, Tx. - Transylvania diving sophomore Mackie Redford competed in the NCAA Regional round for 3m diving today, to wrap up her weekend at the regionals in San Antonio. The event was Redford's first in person NCAA regional, but impressively her second time qualifying overall.
"After shaking out the nerves from day one, Mackie came into day two fired up and ready to go. She had a solid performance in an event full of tough competition." said Transylvania diving coach Noah Richter. "We will now wait and see if her performance was enough to make it to the NCAA Championships, but regardless, we are all so proud of her diving and accomplishments this season."
Redford took a final score of 372.10 points, placing her in sixth out of the 18 participants chosen to compete. She had the third highest Event Average Score of the group, 5.71.
The divers who qualify for the NCAA will be announced March 7th, as only six total divers from 1m and 3m diving are selected per gender.Â
