Carmel, Ind. - Transylvania women's tennis senior
Porsche Robinson has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for women's tennis,
the conference announced Tuesday.
Having completed their eighth week of the 2021-2022 women's tennis season, Robinson, a senior from Houston, Tx. (Stratford) stood out across the HCAC for her exceptional performance over the week. The nomination becomes her second time this season winning Athlete of the Week honors.
Over the weekend, Robinson delivered stellar performances in all six of her matches at the Pioneer Invite, played at Top Seed Tennis Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Robinson played three matches each at No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles, going a perfect 6-0 on the weekend. Robinson's contributions led the Pioneers to victories over Asbury University, Illinois Wesleyan University, and Emory & Henry College.Â
The Pioneers are 11-2 on the season and look to extend their 5-match winning streak as they travel to Orlando, Florida to take on Connecticut College, Bethel (Minn.), and Roger Williams from March 13-16th. The Pioneers will wrap up their regular season at the end of this month and look to finish strong with high hopes for the postseason.Â
