Lexington, Ky. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced its 2022 Spring sport recipients of the Tom Bohlsen Academic All-Conference award. 36 Transylvania student-athletes were included on the list for their performance both in the classroom and in the field of competition in their respective sports this spring season.
Pioneers from seven different HCAC-sponsored spring sports earned the conference's All-Academic awards, as members of the baseball, softball, men's golf, women's lacrosse, men's tennis, and men's/women's outdoor track and field teams took the honors. For their achievements, the recipients truly exemplify the meaning of being a student-athlete.
The Transylvania student-athletes, as well as the recipients from the other institutions in the conference, earned this season's honors by achieving cumulative grade-point averages of 3.5 or higher. The student-athlete also must have completed the full academic year, and be enrolled full-time at the respective institution.
The Transylvania baseball team, led by head coach Zack Getsee, had the most recipients with 8. The men's and women's outdoor track and field teams combined to have 10 athletes earning the award.
The award, which is given out each year in every season, is named for Tom Bohlsen, the HCAC's first commissioner, who served from 1998 to 2008.
