Tim Alexander, Rhett Cox, and Reed Gritton have been named from Transy Men's Golf as 2021-2022 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars by the GCAA. 

"It takes an enormous amount of discipline to be able to excel in the classroom as a college golfer. With the amount of class time they are forced to miss due to a rigorous national travel schedule, I continue to be impressed that we have so many golfers that earn this prestigious honor," said Head Coach Brian Lane. 

To receive a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must:

• Be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate's Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. 

• Must participate in 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds.

• Have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, under 78.0 in NAIA, and under 77.0 in NJCAA.

• Maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2

• Be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.

140 NCAA Division III athletes from 56 schools earned 2021-22 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar honors, Transylvania being the only Kentucky DIII school and the most in the HCAC to have scholars earn the honor.

Dr. Sheilley, Transylvania Vice President of Athletics, said of the honors, "I think sometimes we forget what an honor this is because this has been such a consistent outcome from Coach Lane's team.  Yet it is a huge honor to be able to successfully not only balance academics and athletics, but do well at both!"
