LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The No. 2 ranked Transylvania Women's Basketball team won their 42nd consecutive game, defeating Spalding University 71-40 to move to 9-0 on the season. The Pioneers led the entire game.

Kennedy Harris scored Transylvania's 12 of their first 20 points from behind the arc. The Pioneers shot 9 of 31 from three point range on the afternoon and shot 40% overall while holding the Golden Eagles to a season low 40 points.

Dasia Thornton led Transylvania with 14 points and 6 rebounds. She is now averaging 15.6 points per game.
Kennedi Stacy scored 10 points and led all players on the floor with 5 assists.
Sadie Wurth finished with 8 points and
Sydney Wright finished with 7. Transylvania's bench scored 26 points in the win.
Transy dominated in the paint, scoring 36 of their 71 points in the paint. The Pioneers defense caused 23 Golden Eagle turnovers that resulted in 25 points.Â
With the win, Transylvania's win streak is now at 42 games, which ties for 20th longest in NCAA history with North Dakota State (1996-1997), and Baylor (2011-2013). It is also the 9th longest win streak in NCAA DIII history.
Transylvania's 40 points given up moves their season average to 41.5, which is best in the NCAA DIII. Their 30.9 scoring margin is second best in NCAA DIII.
Transylvania remains unbeaten all time against Spalding, earning their 8th win all time over the Golden Eagles.
The Pioneers will be back in action next week as they host the Gratz Park Private Wealth Holiday Tournament next Friday and Saturday at the Clive M. Beck Center. They'll take on Edgewood College in the tournament opener at 4 PM next Friday.
