Box Score At Pat Deacon, Transy Women's Lacrosse finished up Spring Break with a game at home against the Carthage Firebirds. The Pioneers had a close game against the Firebirds, in a three to three first quarter off goals from Green, Rider, and Koshoffer. The second quarter stayed close as the Firebirds scored two with sophomore Diana Bruder adding one for the Pioneers.
In the third quarter, Transy came out strong with two goals in the first two and a half minutes. Three unanswered goals between 5:16 and 4:24 remaining in the quarter, two from Abbey Peterson and one from Charlotte Green gave the Pioneers their best push of the game.
The Pioneers had six different scorers for their 14-12 win over the Firebirds.
Defensively, Lauren Arena and Abby Rau each took two groundballs and caused a turnover. Senior Abi Waldron recorded 17 saves on 29 shots from the Firebirds.
Coach Bragg said of the win, "This was a great team win today! Our goal was to focus on the controllables and manage the clock. This team showed great hustle, grit, and heart. I am extremely proud of their performance and excited to see the progress this team will continue to make throughout the season!"
Next on the schedule for the Pioneers is Ohio Wesleyan for a 1:00 PM Sunday game on March 26th at Pat Deacon Stadium.
