Box Score On a nice evening at Pat Deacon Stadium, Transy Women's Lacrosse continued their HCLC dominance with a 27-3 win over MSJ. They are now 4-0 in conference play and 9-4 overall.
The Pioneers finished the first quarter with a 12-1 lead. Sophomore Lula Thompson scored the first goal of the game, followed by one goal from MSJ. The Pioneers would go on an 11-0 run for the remainder of the quarter with two more goals for Thompson, two for senior Abbey Peterson, two for senior Mandi Rider, three for sophomore Charlotte Green, one for senior Sophia Sparks, and one for sophomore Diana Bruder. Assists came from Vianne Koshoffer (2), Sophia Sparks, Charlotte Green, and Abbey Peterson.
In the second quarter, Rider added two more goals, assisted by Green for one. Bruder also added two more. TaNya Barbee and Vianne Koshoffer also scored one each, both unassisted. With these six goals, the Pioneers made it a 17-0 run without an answered goal from MSJ.
To start the third quarter, Charlotte Green scored her fourth goal assisted by Thompson. Junior Linley Dawson added an unassisted goal. Thompson then netted her fourth goal of the game followed by another goal for Barbee. Abbey Peterson scored her third to end the quarter 23-1.
In the fourth, sophomore Macy Hobbs-Powell scored her first goal of the season. A goal from MSJ ended the 22 unanswered goal streak making it 24-2. Junior Amanda Kanatzar scored her first career goal in the game. One final goal from Sparks finished off the total for Transy as they went on to the 27-3 final and another win for senior goalie Abi Waldron.
On Wednesday, the Pioneers will travel to HCLC opponent Hanover for a matchup with the Panthers.
