Transy Women's Lacrosse wins fifth straight conference regular season title with 27-4 win at Franklin

For the last HCLC game of the season, the #1 HCLC ranked Pioneers traveled to Franklin to face the #2 Grizzlies with final seedings for the HCLC Tournament on the line, both teams coming in at 5-0. 

The Pioneers started quickly with seven unanswered goals to start the first quarter. Senior Vianne Koshoffer netted the first goal, assisted by senior Sophia Sparks within the first 30 seconds of the game. Less than a minute later, senior Mandi Rider added another goal, assisted by senior Abbey Peterson. Junior Linley Dawson added the third goal, assisted by Koshoffer. A few minutes later, Peterson added a free position goal to make it 4-0. Sparks scored back-to-back goals at 8:58 and 8:45, assisted by sophomore Charlotte Green and Peterson. Peterson added another free position goal before a Franklin goal made it 7-1. To finish off the first quarter, the Pioneers scored five more goals in 4:10. Sophomore Diana Bruder added her first of the game, assisted by Koshoffer. Green netted one unassisted for 9-1. Peterson scored her third, with Koshoffer's third assist of the game. Sophomore TaNya Barbee added her first goal, unassisted. Rider added her second goal of the game with a free position to make it 12-1. 

In the second quarter, Peterson scored her fourth goal, assisted by Green, then quickly scored her fifth with a free position shot. Sophomore Lula Thompson added a goal on a free position as well to make it 15-2. Charlotte Green scored her second goal, assisted by Sparks to finish off the quarter 16-2. 

Rider started the third quarter with a goal assisted by Green to make it 17-2, then traded roles for a goal by Green, assisted by Rider for an 18-3 lead. Rider scored her fourth goal on a free position. Thompson added another goal, assisted by Peterson for 19-3. Peterson finished off scoring for the quarter with a free position goal, the Pioneer sitting at 20-3 going into the fourth quarter. 

Green started the fourth with her fourth goal, assisted by Barbee. Thompson added her third goal of the game, unassisted. Barbee added her second goal, assisted by Green, her fourth assist of the game. Koshoffer followed with a free position goal to make it 25-3. Thompson finished off the game with two goals in the last two minutes giving her five on the day, one assisted by Barbee, one unassisted for the 25-4 final. 

As a team, there were nine different scorers and six different players with assists to contribute to the offensive onslaught. Charlotte Green surpassed the 200 draw control milestone with 11 today, sitting at 205 for her career total along with 110 points. Senior Abi Waldron picked up another win and two more saves. 

"Amazing team win today! Everyone contributed to this win and being regular season conference champions. This team is so supportive of each other and want everyone to be successful on the field," said Head Coach Rachael Bragg. 

With the win, Transy Women's Lacrosse sits at 6-0 in the HCLC, 10-4 overall, and will host the HCLC Semifinal Wednesday at 7:00 PM against Hanover, the winner advancing to the HCLC Championship next Saturday.
