HARRISONBURG, Va. -
Emily Long scored her second goal of the season in Transy's 1-2 loss at Eastern Mennonite University. The lone goal for Transy was scored a minute and 7 seconds into the second half, tying the game at 1-1 before EMU scored the game winner in the fourth quarter.
The loss moves the Pioneers to 3-4 on the season. They finish the three game road trip at 1-2.
Transy outshot Eastern Mennonite 22-11 and had 10 shots on goal to EMU's 9.
EMU's goalkeeper recorded 9 saves and
Libby Bringard recorded 7 for the Pioneers.
EMU struck first, scoring 8:30 into the game. Neither team could find the back of the cage until
Emily Long scored her second goal of the season and first of the road trip to open the second half. It looked as if Transy would get their third overtime game of the season, until EMU's Cassidy Armstrong found the back of the cage to take the lead and ultimately win the game.
Emily Long led the Pioneers in shots on goal with 4.
Sidney Aldridge finished with 2.
Transy returns home for three games as they begin NCAC play, starting with Allegheny College next Saturday at 12 PM.
