LEXINGTON - For the eighth consecutive season the no. 2 ranked Transylvania Women's Basketball team has advanced to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Championship after defeating Franklin 83-52 in the first semifinal game of the HCAC Tournament. The Pioneers dominated the game from start to finish.
With the win, Transylvania passes DePauw University's 58 game win streak that was set in between 2012-2014, which now moves the Pioneers to sixth all time for the longest DIII women's basketball winning streak.

The game's first 23 points were all scored by Transy, as the Grizzlies couldn't find an answer for the Pioneer offense. Transy held Franklin scoreless for the first 7:42 of the game.
Four different Pioneers scored double-figures in the win.
Kennedi Stacy and
Laken Ball both finished with 16 points. Ball was nearly perfect on the night, finishing 5-6 from the floor and 4-4 on free throws. Stacy was 4-8 from three point range while adding 5 steals.
Dasia Thornton earned her 10th double-double of the season after scoring 14 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.
Emilie Teall finished the game 4-6 from the field for 10 points. She hit a buzzer beater three pointer to end the first quarter.
The nation's no. 1 scoring defense continued to wreak havoc, causing 18 Franklin turnovers that resulted in 18 points.
Juli Fulks earned her 395th career win.
Up next: Transy faces Mount St. Joseph in the HCAC Championship game tomorrow at 6 PM. The Pioneers are looking for their sixth straight HCAC Championship.
