Women's Lacrosse drops matchup with Rhodes

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Transylvania Women's Lacrosse took a break from conference play and faced the Rhodes College Lynx this evening. This was a tough battle for the Pioneers, with a final score of 24-7. Transylvania collected a total of 21 ground balls and had 19 caused turnovers on the night. 

Junior TaNya Barbee earned her sixth hat trick of the season, scoring 3 goals while adding an assist. Junior Charlotte Green was the first Pioneer to score a goal in tonight's game. Green finished the night with two goals, five draw controls, and three caused turnovers. Fifth-year senior Sophia Sparks added a goal of her own in the second to cut the Lynx's lead by half. The lone scorer in the fourth period for the Pioneers was junior Diana Bruder, who finished the night with one goal, three ground balls, two caused turnovers, and four draw controls.  

Defensively, junior Macy Hobbs-Powell had a season-high night, leading the team in caused turnovers with four while collecting four ground balls. Another stand-out defensive performance came from freshman Emilie Gaudron, who also had a season-high night. Gaudron collected four ground balls and had three caused turnovers. Sophomore goalkeeper Jana Carlisle totaled nine saves. 

The Pioneers will resume conference play with the next contest being home vs. Hanover on Wednesday, April 24th at 7 pm.
