TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -  The Transylvania Men's Tennis team was in action this weekend as they played their last match of the regular season against Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. The Pioneers are coming off a win against Earlham which had earned the Pioneers a first round bye in the HCAC tournament. This match today was hard fought, but lost by the Pioneers 3-6 on the road. 

Today the Pioneers would be in a hole early after dropping all the Doubles matches, all of which were close. This would leave the Pioneers to be fighting back all day, seeing success in Singles splitting those wins at 3 a piece. 

In #1 Singles, Chris Kaufmann would block out all the noise and serve a dominating performance, winning 6-3, 6-2. In #2 Singles Arjun Gupta would win 6-2, 7-5 then followed by a victory in #6 Singles as Jacob Jiranek would win a lengthy match going 3 sets. Jiranek would win after going 6-7, 6-1, 1-0. The wins in #1 and #2 Singles is a great building block as the Pioneers look to next weekend's HCAC Men's Tennis Tournament. 

With the automatic bye next week the Pioneers will host the HCAC Men's Tennis Tournament here at Top Seed Tennis Club May 4th and 5th.
