LEXINGTON, KY - Transylvania hosted Anderson in a Hearland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) match up on Saturday at the Clive M. Beck Center. The Pioneers would defeat the Ravens 3-0.Â
Transylvania battled with the Ravens in a competitive first set. A kill from
Macy Lentz gave the Pioneers a 10-5 advantage, but the Ravens would respond to score three consecutive points. Transylvania would utilize a 5-1 run with kills from
Isabella Myers,
Lilly Kaiser and Lentz to push the lead back to seven at 17-10. The Pioneers would close the first set with a 5-2 run featuring a kill from
Addison Jarvis, a kill from Myers, an ace from
Julia Brown and a final two kills from Myers and
Lilly Kaiser. Leading 14-11 in the second set, the Ravens would rally with seven consecutive points to take a four point lead. Transylvania would respond with a run of their own, scoring eight consecutive points to take the 22-18 lead. A kill from Myers and an attack error from the Ravens gave Transylvania the 25-23 set two win. Late in set three, Transylvania would take a 24-18 lead after three consecutive kills from Jarvis, Roberts and Lentz. A block from Roberts and Lentz would give the Pioneers the final set 25-19, and a 3-0 victory.Â
Isabella Myers led the Pioneers with 14 kills, while
Macy Lentz led the team in assists (40) and digs (12).
Prior to the win, the Pioneers recognized
Cecelia Roberts in her recent career milestone of 100 blocks at Transylvania.Â
Transylvania (18-6) returns to action on Wednesday, October 29th, hosting Hanover at the Clive M. Beck Center at 7:00 p.m.
