BLUFFTON, OHIO - Transylvania Volleyball traveled to Bluffton on Saturday for a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) match up with the Beavers.Â
Transylvania utilized two significant runs in the opening set to claim the opening win at 25-20. Trailing 14-11, the Pioneers scored six consecutive points to retake the lead at 17-14. The run featured two aces from
Isabella Myers and kills from
Peyton Mast,
Lilly Kaiser and
Addison Jarvis. The second key sequence came late in the set, as Transylvania scored four consecutive points to take a 24-18 advantage, that would ultimately result in a 25-20 win. Tied at 23-23 late in the second set, the Beavers would score two consecutive points to take set two, however the Pioneers would storm back in set three. Transylvania would open the third set with a strong offensive display, taking a 17-3 lead. Back to back kills from Myers would seal the 25-9 set win for the Pioneers. In the fourth set, both teams would struggle to build a lead, but with the Pioneers trailing 18-17, they would find another rally to score six consecutive points, featuring three kills from Myers. Myers would score a final kill in the final two serves to give Transylvania a 25-19 win, and a 3-1 HCAC victory.Â
Isabella Myers led the Pioneers with 17 kills, followed by 12 from Kaiser and 12 from Mast.
Macy Lentz recorded 48 assists, while
Alex O'Connor and
Julia Brown each tallied 23 digs.Â
Transylvania returns to action on Wednesday, November 5th, traveling to Mount St. Joseph for an HCAC Match up at 7:00 p.m.
