Transylvania Close Regular Season with HCAC Victory

LEXINGTON, KY - The Transylvania Women's Volleyball team celebrated senior day and wrapped up their regular senior season on Saturday in the 3-0 sweep against conference opponent Franklin College. 

Transylvania started the first set on a 11-4 run with Cecelia Roberts and Isabella Myers earning the opening two kills. After both teams exchanged points, Franklin would begin to respond. The Pioneers would begin to build on their lead after a kill by Peyton Mast, making the score 20-15. Addie Atcher's three kills would close out the opening set, 25-19. 

The Pioneers opened up the second set with a kill by Isabella Myers, sparking a 10-6 Transylvania run. A kill by Franklin's Leah Middleton, would spark a run which would bring the Grizzlies within two. After consecutive kills by Addie Atcher, Transylvania would take a 22-16 advantage. Isabella Myers scored the final point, assisted by Macy Lentz, to secure the second set win, 25-20. 

Franklin scored the opening point in the third set, but Transylvania followed with an 11-2 run with two kills by Lilly Kaiser. Transylvania's momentum would continue throughout the remainder of the third set. Audrey Gass's ace would push the Pioneers to match point, where Transylvania would walk away with their eighth conference victory. 

Addie Atcher led Transylvania with 15 kills, followed by Isabella Myers (11) and Cecelia Roberts (7). Three Pioneers earned an ace, Audrey Gass, Isabella Myers and Addie Atcher. Isabella Myers led with 5 blocks, followed by Cecelia Roberts (2) and Lilly Kaiser (2). Macy Lentz totaled 31 assists, Audrey Gass tallied 4 and Julia Brown had 2. Julia Brown led with 12 digs, followed by Isabella Myera (10) and Kennedy Beatty (8).
