MOUNT BERRY, GA — Transylvania wrapped up its Georgia road trip on Sunday afternoon, falling 20–4 to Berry College at Valhalla Stadium.
Transylvania's offense produced four different goal scorers in the matchup. Sofie Garrett opened the scoring for the Pioneers in the first quarter before assisting on a goal from Avery Kirkhope minutes later. Kaelin Truman and Presley Helton added second-half goals, each finishing unassisted as Transylvania put home two in the fourth quarter.
Garrett led the Pioneers with two points, recording one goal and one assist. Ruby Himes continued her strong early-season form in goal, finishing with 16 saves on 36 shots on goal while facing 41 total attempts.
Transylvania trailed 4–2 after the opening quarter but was held off the board in the second and third periods as Berry used an 8–0 second quarter run to create separation. The Pioneers generated late momentum with goals from Truman and Helton in the fourth, but the Vikings maintained control throughout the second half.
Transylvania finished the afternoon with 12 total shots, 7 shots on goal, and 18 ground balls. The Pioneers also secured 11 draw controls, led by Presley Helton and Kaelin Truman. Berry held statistical advantages in shots (41–12), shots on goal (29–7), and draw controls (14–11). With the result, Transylvania moves to 1–2 on the season.
The Pioneers return to action on Thursday, February 12, when they travel to face DePauw University. Opening draw is set for 6:00 p.m.
