CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Men's Golf teams competed in week 15 of the 2025-26 season.
Athlete of the Week:
William Carr (Danville, Ky.) Transylvania University | Senior -
William Carr earned All-Tournament honors at the DeKalb Invitational, finishing tied for fourth overall at +1. Carr opened with rounds of 71 (-1) and 70 (-2) before closing with a 76 (+4), playing his first two rounds at a combined 3-under par to position himself among the tournament leaders.
Notable Performances:
- John Mercer (Indianapolis, Ind.) Anderson University | Sophomore - John Mercer tied for ninth with a 153 (+13) after carding rounds of 74 (+4) and 79 (+9) on the par-70 layout at Richmond Elks Country Club.
- Aaron Gerber (Vermilion, Ohio) Bluffton University | Sophomore - Aaron Gerber went 77 (+7)-76(+6) for a 153 (+13) and ninth place finish at the Earlham Spring Invitational hosted by the Richmond Elks Country Club on Saturday and Sunday.
- Nick Stewart (Indianapolis, Ind.) Franklin College | Junior - Nick Stewart shot back-to-back rounds of 74 (+4) to lead the Grizzlies to the team title at the Earlham Spring Invitational. The junior had three birdies during his second round to help the team break out of a first-round tie. Stewart's two-day total of 148 (+8) tied him for third on the individual leaderboard.
- Nate Benson (Indianapolis, Ind.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Sophomore - Nate Benson recorded a 38th place finish at the Emory Spring Invitational with a score of 237 (+21) with five birdies.
