Transylvania improved its winning percentage to .500 on the year while attaining a three-game win streak with Thursday's result, its longest string of victories this season.

Transylvania came out firing against the outmatched Hilltoppers as sophomore point guard Cooper Theobald provided the early scoring punch, becoming the first Pioneer to reach double figures on the afternoon. A pair of threes inside the 10-minute mark of the half by freshman forward Zachary Pulliam pushed the Pioneers lead to 32-13.

The Pioneers picked their spots inside and out, hitting five triples in the first half while shooting 65.8 percent from the field overall.

Transylvania also made its way to the foul line with consistency, hitting 9-for-12 attempts in the first half to carry a 64-32 lead to the break.

In the second half, Transylvania continued its fast-paced success, as the starters held down the fort early before turning over the rest of the closing duties to an assortment of reserves. No Pioneers starter played more than six minutes in the second half, allowing each player who suited up in Thursday's game to get onto the scoreboard.

A layup by sophomore forward Kyle Gullett supplied Transylvania with a 73-49 advantage at the 14:45 mark of the second half; the Pioneers knocked down seven more 3-pointers in the second half on the way to outscoring Augustana 52-43.

Both Theobald and freshman guard Gabe Schmitt each posted 15 points to lead the way for the Pioneers. Pulliam provided 15 off the bench for the Pioneers to lead a potent band of reserves. Pulliam set the bar for Pioneers three-point shooting, hitting 5-for-9 from beyond-the-arc.
