Adrian, Mich. - The Transylvania men's soccer team wrapped up a weekend trip to Michigan with a 4-0 loss to the Adrian College Bulldogs at Docking Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Pioneers recorded 11 shots and five corner kicks but were unable to convert any of these opportunities into goals.
Adrian struck first in the 18th minute when a long ball was played towards Transylvania's goal into the Bulldogs' Grant Perrine, who redirected the ball into the back of the net.
Then, just before halftime, the Bulldogs doubled their lead with a close proximity shot from Brandon Katona.
The Pioneers offensive woes continued into the second half as they were unable to create any scoring opportunities early in the period.
Adrian pushed its lead to 3-0 in the 61st minute when Tad Davis received a throw-in and blasted it past the Pioneers' goalkeeper.
After a Transylvania foul just inside the box, the Bulldogs capped off their victory by converting a penalty kick in the 65th minute, pushing the final score to 4-0.
Junior goalkeeper Drew Grisham recorded two saves and picked up the loss for the Pioneers after allowing four goals in 69 minutes of action.
The Pioneers will now return home for a matchup with the UC Clermont College Cougars on Saturday, September 22. The game is set for a 3:30 p.m. start at Pat Deacon Stadium.
