Welcome to the 2018 HCAC Men's Soccer Conference Tournament

 

OFFICIAL HCAC TOURNAMENT HEADQUARTERS

The HCAC Men's Tournament commences on Tuesday, October 30 with the HCAC semifinals. #1 seed Hanover hosts #4 seed Manchester in one semifinal while #2 seed Transylvania welcomes #3 seed Rose-Hulman to Lexington on Tuesday. The semifinal winners advance to the HCAC Championship will be held Saturday, November 3 at the site of the highest-seeded remaining team.

FACILITY:

Home to the university's field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, and track and field teams, the Transylvania Athletics Complex features an 860-seat grandstand, an eight-lane track, and an artificial turf field that has been in use since October 2013. The 18,000-square-foot field house provides locker and conference rooms, coaches' offices, a sports medicine facility, concessions, a ticket booth, and public restrooms.

 

PARKING:

The Transylvania Athletics Complex is equipped with a parking lot directly adjacent to Pat Deacon Stadium which will be available during any Soccer match. Parking around campus at Transylvania University is tentatively FREE on nights and weekends.  

 

ADMISSION:

Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for senior citizens (aged 65 & over) & students aged 12-17. Children 11 & Under are free. All HCAC students, staff, & faculty are free. Cash or checks only, as we are unable to accept credit cards at this time.

FORMAT:

Single elimination format.  The top four teams in the HCAC standings at the end of the season qualify for the conference tournament. In the semifinals, the first seed plays the fourth seed, while the second seed plays the third seed. The two winning teams advance to face each other in the championship.

   

Field/LOCKER ROOMS:

Transylvania University is not responsible for anything lost or stolen from the field or from the locker rooms.  Each team will be responsible for picking up any trash/debris from their respective areas at the conclusion of each game.  

 

ATHLETIC TRAINING:

Athletic training staff will be on site throughout the weekend with access to beds/tables in the facility.  Ice will be accessible, modalities will be on hand.  Any specific or additional training needs should be provided to our Director of Sports Medicine, Nick Reuss (nreuss@transy.edu), in writing prior to the meet.  If teams wish to bring their own massage tables, there will be an area in the stadium for trainers/massage therapists.

 

PRESS BOX CREDENTIALS

Credentials are issued to members of the working press on assignment. Space is limited in the press boxes at the Transylvania Athletic Complex and is prioritized for sports information/athletics communications and team film staff, live audio and video broadcast personnel, and print writers and photographers.

 

PHOTOGRAPHERS

Photographers wishing to take pictures at any Transylvania University Athletics sporting event should download, complete and return the Athletics Photo Credential and proof of insurance to Director of Sports Information Justin Sweeney or Assistant Sports Information Director Neal Settle prior to the day of competition.

 

SAFETY:

The university has a lightning notification system that will trigger facility staff to clear the field and bleachers in the case of inclement weather.

 

CONCESSIONS:

Concessions will be available for spectators throughout the tournament at Pat Deacon Stadium.

 

TOBACCO:

Smoking and/or tobacco use of any kind is prohibited on campus at Transylvania University. Violators are subject to fines and/or other disciplinary actions taken by the facility and university staff.
