Records fall for Transy in Defiance Invitational
DEFIANCE, Ohio - Transylvania's men's and women's track and field team established five new school records Saturday while competing in the Defiance Indoor Invitational.

Both teams finished eighth overall. On the women's side, Case Western won the team title with 170 points, followed by Wittenberg (89.5), Defiance (88.5), Grace (86), Anderson (67), Grace (61.6), Earlham (22.5), and Transy (11).

Case Western also won the men's team title with 172 points while Wittenberg had 136.45. Next came Defiance with 104.5, Adrian (77), Anderson (71), Grace (57), Earlham (16), and Transy (4).

A record setting performances was turned in by Shelby Auxier in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.46, good enough for a seventh place showing. She was also fourth in the 60 meter day. Laura Clark set another record in the 3000 meter with a time of 12:06.5, which left her in eighth place. She was also sixth in the 800 meter.

For the men, Transy's Ben Lyvers set a new school mark in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.23, which placed him seventh. Mason Williams was seventh in the 400 meter dash with a school record time of 53.44.Chris Saldana got the final school record of the day in the 3000 meter run, when he posted a time of 10:51.11.

Transy returns to action on Saturday when the Pioneers compete in the Anderson Indoor Invitational.
