Transy women's track team 8th at Hanover Invitational
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Transylvania's women's track and field team finished eighth Saturday in the Hanover Invitational while the men's team did not post a team score.


On the women's side, Hanover won the meet with 255.5 points. Manchester was next at 131 with Rose-Hulman and Indianapolis tied for third at 100. Franklin, Thomas More, Mt. St. Joseph, and Transy (14.5) followed with Indiana East, Midway, and Spalding rounding out the field.

For the men, Wabash won with 234 points, followed by Rose-Hulman (142), Manchester (67.5), and Hanover (64). Twelve teams competed in the event.

The highlights for Transy included personal records by Laura Clark and Annie Edkins. Clark covered the distance in 5:18.26 and finished seventh while Edkins turned in a 6:23.43. Clark also had a season best performance in the 800 meter with a time of 2:33.44. Shelby Auxier was seventh in the 400 meter dash

For the men, Chris Saldana had a season best run in the 800 meter, with a time of 2:11.32.

Ben Hoseus was 10th in the 400 meter dash and 14th in the 200 meter dash.

The Pioneers return to action on Saturday when they travel to Danville for the Centre Invitational.
