Sophomore Katie Cohron and freshmen Jordin Fender and Cora Kerber were named to the HCAC Athletes to Watch list. Fender earned top times in the 100m and 200m sprints in the recent Coastal Carolina Invitational. Cohron held the mark in the 400m and Kerber held the 800m and 1500m time for the Pioneers.
Transylvania received 45 points in the poll, while conference-favorite Defiance College nabbed six first-place votes and a total of 95 points. Defending HCAC champion, Hanover received four first-place votes earning a total of 94 points. Anderson University tied with Franklin College for third with 72 points. Manchester University compiled 66 points, leading Transylvania University (45), Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (43), Bluffton University (32), Earlham College (21) and College of Mount St. Joseph (10).
The 2014 women's outdoor track and field season gets underway this weekend. The Pioneers will travel to Berea College on Saturday.
